Groove Server 2010 (Includes Software Assurance) (English)

GrooveServer 2010 provides centralized management, data relay, and dataintegrationservices for Groove workspaces created with SharePoint Workspace 2010or Groove2007.

GrooveServer is a set of two server software applications:

·         Groove Server Manager provides aweb-basedinterface for accessing all related management and administrationactivities,including directory integration, security policies and public keyinfrastructure (PKI) integration, user identity management, componentmanagement, data recovery, reporting, and auditing.

·         Groove Server Relay provides data relayservices to transmit data between Groove workspaces when they cannotconnectdirectly. Groove Server Relay's store-and-forward service facilitatesdatatransmission when recipient clients are offline or behind a firewalland whentransmitting clients transmit a large amount of data or have a slowconnection.

The2010 version of Groove Server integrates SharePoint Workspace usermanagementwith Active Directory, automates SharePoint Workspace accountconfiguration,distributes usage policies to SharePoint Workspace users, enhancessupport forglobal SharePoint Workspace communications, and supports secureSharePointWorkspace management. It does not include the Groove Data Bridgeapplicationthat was included in Groove Server 2007.

SharePointWorkspace 2010 or Groove 2007 software is required to access GrooveServer2010.

Thisproduct includes a server license. No client licenses are required forGrooveServer.

Acquiring theInstallation Media: Installing this product requiresinstallation media and a license key. Installation media will beshipped to youfree of charge.

Software Assurance: Under theSoftware Assurance program, you have the right to install any newrelease ofproducts covered in the agreement during the term of your coverage.
