- Under the Software Assurance program, customers acquire the right to install any new release of products covered in the agreement during the term of their coverage.
- Link tables to databases from other Access databases, Excel spreadsheets, Windows SharePoint Services sites, ODBC (open database connectivity) data sources, SQL Server databases, and other data sources.
- Modify reports with real-time visual feedback and save various views for different audiences.
- Quickly enter common types of data detected automatically by Access.
- Integrate with Windows SharePoint Services (requires additional server software) as a rich client interface, to manage data, and to share it on the Web.
Inthe 2010 version, the Ribbon, which was introduced in Office 2007 andreplacedtraditional menus and toolbars with a set of task-based tabs, can becustomizedto suit the user's needs. The Ribbon's new File tab displays MicrosoftOfficeBackstage view, which provides users with commonly accessed commandswhenopening or finishing a document and groups together related tasks. NewTableTools tabs bring commonly used field and table commands to the toplevel of theRibbon for quick access. New Quick Start fields allow commonly usedfields tobe created in coordinated, preformatted sets.

Important VolumeLicensing Information: With Office 2010 suites andapplications,organizations can choose between two types of volume license keys forproductactivation: a Key Management Service (KMS) license key or a MultipleActivationKey (MAK). Organizations will be provided with both types of keys ontheMicrosoft Volume Licensing website.
Microsoftrecommends KMS activation only for organizations with at least 50networkedcomputers requiring activation for any combination of Office 2010suites andapplications, including Project 2010 and Visio 2010. Organizations withfewerthan 50 computers requiring activation or organizations withnon-networkedcomputers should activate their products using a MAK. Microsoft offersinstructions on howto use a MAK or KMS key to activate volume editions of Office 2010.
Acquiring theInstallation Media and License Key: Installing thisproduct requires installation media and a license key. Installationmedia willbe shipped to you free of charge.
Thelicense allows you to use the installation media to install the producton asmany computers as you have received donations for. This quantity isspecifiedin the donation email sent to your organization email address afteryoureligibility has been verified and your administrative fee has beenreceived. Aseparate email will give you information about obtaining your licensekey.
