InfoPath2010 is a forms-creation and information-gathering program. Users cancreateforms without writing code, and developers can create advanced formsfordepartmental and business processes.
The2010 version adds the Fluent user interface, which simplifiesnavigation byreplacing menus and toolbars with a set of task-based tabs known as theRibbon.The Ribbon's new Filetab displaysMicrosoft Office Backstage view, which provides users with commonlyaccessedcommands when opening or finishing a document and groups togetherrelatedtasks.
Fornontechnical users, the WYSIWYG form development environment,drag-and-dropplacement of form controls, and prebuilt template parts simplify formcreation.If more advanced forms are needed, developers can enhance InfoPathforms usingMicrosoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications, included with InfoPath2010,which provides a lightweight version of the Visual Studio IntegratedDevelopment Environment.
Theelectronic forms created with InfoPath can be deployed through email orhostedinside other Office programs for other InfoPath users to complete.
Whenused with SharePoint Server 2010, InfoPath provides the followingadditionalfeatures:
· Forms can be deployed via InfoPath FormsServices through the web or mobile devices and filled out by userswithoutInfoPath installed.
· Forms can be created from informationstored in SharePoint lists, allowing team members to access sharedinformationand collaborate.
· Forms can be managed as a component ofSharePoint Server.
· Developers can create SharePointapplications, such as forms-driven processes that make use ofSharePointServer's built-in workflow capabilities.
· Data from multiple sources can becombinedsimultaneously using web services, XML, SQL Server, and SharePointServer 2010data connections within the same form.
32-Bit and x64Versions:The installation media for this product include two sets of DVDs andcan beused for either 32-bit or x64 systems.
ImportantVolume Licensing Information:With Office 2010 suites and applications,organizations can choose between two types of volume license keys forproductactivation: a Key Management Service (KMS) license key or a MultipleActivationKey (MAK). Organizations will be provided with both types of keys ontheMicrosoft Volume Licensing website.
Microsoftrecommends KMS activation only for organizations with at least 50networkedcomputers requiring activation for any combination of Office 2010suites andapplications, including Project 2010 and Visio 2010. Organizations withfewerthan 50 computers requiring activation or organizations withnon-networkedcomputers should activate their products using a MAK. Microsoft offersinstructions on howto use a MAK or KMS key to activate volume editions of Office 2010.
Acquiring theInstallation Media and License Key: Installing thisproduct requires installation media and a license key. Installationmedia willbe shipped to you free of charge.
Thelicense allows you to use the installation media to install the producton asmany computers as you have received donations for. This quantity isspecifiedin the donation email sent to your organization email address afteryoureligibility has been verified and your administrative fee has beenreceived. Aseparate email will give you information about obtaining your licensekey.
Software Assurance: Under the SoftwareAssurance program, you have the right to install any new release ofproductscovered in the agreement during the term of your coverage.
