This enterprise device client access license (CAL) can be used only in conjunction with a standard Exchange Server device CAL. It allows one computer or other device to access certain Exchange Server features regardless of the number of users (for example, on a shared workstation).
The features licensed through the enterprise Exchange Server device CAL include:
- Unified messaging
- Per-user/per-distribution-list journaling
- Managed folders
- Exchange Hosted Filtering*
- Forefront Security for Exchange Server*
This CAL works with Exchange Server 2007, Standard and Enterprise editions.
User CALs are also available. A user CAL authorizes one user to access Exchange Server's additional features on any number of computers or other devices (for example, when an employee accesses the server from a computer at work and another at home).
* This service can be accessed for the duration of the Software Assurance coverage period.
